My Hobbies

Today's topic is hobbies and it's something that is really hard for me to write about. Why? Because throughout my life I have had different hobbies, but never something that I have maintained over time. I am very flexible in that sense. However, I will mention the hobbies I have dedicated the most time to. For example, making hoops and bracelets with macramé (which is basically a waxed thread), is one of the activities in which I spent more time during my childhood (from 8 to 12 years old approximately) I collected threads and preferably wooden or plastic beads, then sold my products to my family. I was a small entrepreneur!  used to do this when I arrived at my house after school and in my free time, and I shared the hobby with my best friend. I liked it a lot because I made myself the jewels that I used , with the colors and shapes of my taste, and I also relaxed and entertained myself at the same time. Unfortunately, as I grew older I left that activity aside, although I still keep the materials I used.

Currently the only hobby I maintain is swimming, hough I practice intermittently. There are times I go often and there are weeks, even months, when I stop practicing, due to time and the distance between the pool and my house. I discovered that it was my favorite sport when my mom enrolled me in a summer course when I was very young; I was 5 or 6 years old. Currently, I train in the pool of the University of Chile (Station "Puente Cal y Canto"). Sometimes I go alone and other times with friends, as long as time allows me. Swimming is a sport that I like a lot because it makes me feel good physically and emotionally. It is different from other sports; I love being submerged in water because it makes me escape from reality and homework.
