Jaime Fierro Carrasco
Hello everyone, today I will write about Jaime Fierro Carrasco. He
is a Doctor (Ph.D.) in Political Science from the University of Essex, England. Ph.D. in Moral Philosophy and Politics, University of Chile. Ph.D. in Philosophy,
University of Valladolid-University of Salamanca, Spain. Master in Social
Sciences, mention Sociology of Modernization, University of Chile. Sociologist
and Bachelor of Sociology, University of Chile.
In the area
of public policy, he has been an advisor to the Minister of Planning and
Cooperation (2001-2002), the Cabinet of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Health (2002) and the Department of Policies and Decentralization in the
Undersecretariat of Regional and Administrative Development (2007- 2009). He has also
developed as a researcher at the Center for Development Studies (1997-2001) and
Latinobarómetro (2006-2007). Since 2015 he is the Research Coordinator of the
Institute of Public Affairs.
In addition
to the above, he is a professor at the University of Chile and in 2016 he
received the award for the best teacher at the same university. The teacher
has made various publications and research related to citizenship and
democracy, among them his book "La ciudadanía y sus límites".
I chose to
talk about him, because he was my teacher last year in the course
"Fenómenos Políticos Contemporáneos" and I liked his way of thinking
about teaching, because for him the grades are not the most important thing, the important is learning. I also
liked the way he viewed politics and the way he related it to the Public
Administration. For all this I feel that it is a great contribution for the
area.

ResponderEliminarThe best teacher haha
As said above is the best teacher, we learn a lot with him, as it makes us reflect on how citizenship is.
